Home Made Pumpkin Puree

Home Made Pumpkin Puree

Recipe by Gluten Free Baking By Rachelle (Rachelle Himmelman)

Fall is a wonderful time of the year on so many levels, but one of my most favorite things to do is make Home Made Pumpkin Puree and I find this method incredibly easy and absolutely delicious, you will never again want to buy the canned puree. You can use the puree right away or freeze and use for another time.

Prep time: 10 Minutes

Cook time: 35-40 Minutes

Total time: 50 Minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 whole Pie Pumpkin (Sugar Pumpkin)
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  2. Cut pumpkin in half
  3. Remove all the seeds from the inside of the pumpkin
  4. On a cookie sheet lined with foil place seeded pumpkins face down
  5. Cook 35-40 minutes or until fork tender
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes or until skin starts to lift up
  7. Peel skin off and discard
  8. Put peeled pumpkins into a food processor and blend until smooth creating a puree consistency
  9. Remove from processor and use right away or freeze
